2FA
Two-Factor Authentication
for Safer Trading

General FAQ

2FA is a method of verifying a user’s online identity using two separate factors to ensure client security.
1. Default Password issued by the institution (must be changed by the client)
2. One-Time Password (OTP) generated by a token, app, or SMS

At Phillip Futures, clients are required to enter both their password and a one-time password (OTP) to securely access online services.

The main purpose of 2FA is to protect clients’ online trading accounts and personal information from unauthorized access while strengthening the overall security of online trading systems.

At Phillip Futures, we take a proactive approach to client protection by implementing risk-mitigation measures designed to keep your trading account and information secure from unauthorized access.

Secure Your Online Trading Account, Key Practices

To protect your password, tokens, and personal data from unauthorized access and fraud, please follow these guidelines:
a. Use a strong password (min. 8 characters, mix of letters & numbers).
b. Do not share, record, or reuse your password across different services.
c. Change your password regularly or if you suspect compromise.
d. Do not let browsers save your login details.
e. Always check the website URL (https:// and lock icon).
f. Review your account activity often and report issues immediately.
g. Keep your devices protected (anti-virus, firewall, software updates).
h. Log out and clear cache after each session.
i. Avoid opening unknown attachments, links, or suspicious websites.
j. Do not use public/shared computers for trading or transactions.

Single-factor password authentication is more vulnerable to password attacks and malware, which may allow unauthorized parties to compromise and hijack online trading accounts.

This could lead to the exposure of your personal and trading information, or fraudulent trades being carried out through your account. Not enabling 2FA increases your risk of these threats.
